Scottish Unclaimed Estates
In England and Wales the Treasury takes in millions of pounds each year from unclaimed estates and in Scotland the Queen’s and Lord Treasurer’s Remembrancer Office perform a similar role.
Below are details of three recent unclaimed estates that QLTR have been published.
Michael Francis Thornton of Greenock died in 2016 leaving an unclaimed estate of £74,000. Francis McGinley of Glasgow who died in 2017 leaves an unclaimed estate of £50,000 and Margaret Eleanor Eyles of Keith Moray died in 2018 leaving an unclaimed estate of £107,000
